Manufacturer “Mark Twain,” “Little Cuba,” “Boucher’s Hand Made. Havana Special” “El Ciro” and Other Well Known Brands of High Grade Cigars---Oper ates Largest Factory in the State of Missouri. ‘the inception of this enterprise dates back some nine years ago when the business was begun in a small way, and since that time the growth and development of the trade of the house has been little less than re markable and it has been necessary to increase the business to ten times the original size of it when it was first established in 1904. At the outset the factory furnished employ ment to only six people, although sweeping changes have taken place since that time, and now some sixty people are required in the operation of the factory and four traveling salesmen are employed. The office and factory of Mr. Boucher are situated at 618-620 Jop lin street, In what is known as the Star building. The premises utilized for the operation of the business comprise part of the first and all of the second floor. This factory produces about fif teen brands of high-class cigars. A few of the widely known and exceed ingly popular brands turned out are ‘Mark Twain,” “Little Cuba’ and ‘Boucher’s Hand Made Havana Spe cial,” all 5-cent cigars, and “El Ciro,” a very high-grade 10-cent cigar. Mr. Boucher produces more cigars than any other one manufacturer in the state of Missouri. The trade ter ritory in which the output of the fac tory is sold embraces about all of the territory situated within a radius from 150 to 200 miles of Joplinan goods are sold direct to the dealer situated in local territory, whil those in other sections are supplie by the jobbing houses. The large, substantial and grow in patronage enjoyed by Mr. Les has been developed by producing hon est goods at honest prices, close at tention to details and thorough, straightforward business methods. Mr. Boucher is numbered among the thriving, successful and wide, awake citizens and business men of Joplin and is a man who has contrib uted liberally toward the growth and commercial development of this com munity.
