Man Who Was Beaten On Street Car, In Court Wednesday Afternoon, The cane of the state of Iowa vs. Otto Schnee, charged With an assault and battery action, brought by the Union Electric company, was called for trial in Judge Skemp's court Wednes day afternoon at 8 o'clock. Twenty witnesses were present to give testi mony. The case grew out of a quarrel on a street car last Friday evening which it is alleged Schnee created a disturbance and assaulted the motor neer, a man named Cruise. The lat ter beat Cruise with a controller and injured him badly. Schnee plead not guilty of assaulting Cruise. All of the people who were on the car at the time of the trouble were so summoned as witnesses, Attorney Fitzpatrick ap pears for Schnee and Alphons Matt hews for the Union Electric company, Dont forget the Hod Carriers’ first annual ball at Germania ball Thurs day evening, Jan, 31.
