Quite a Muddle.—They havehad quite a miuldlc over Post Mills way. An old man named Lacount. residing in Vershire, went to Post Mills with a sleigh, Monday of last week. While at the store a tinker came along with a small trunk of tools, which he says ho set down in vlu corner of the shod, but which Lacount and friends claim he put in Lacount’s sleigh, where itremaiu. lt;1 until the latter reached homo, when he took it into his house. The tm st day a Sheriff went up for the tu« Is, which he got, and arrested Lacount 011 a charge of stealing them, taking him to Post Mills, where lie had a trial that night. ri he trial was closely contested, but the jury said “guilty,” and Lacountwas sentenced to pay $10 and costs.Then the tinker asked for his tools, bur, they were non est% having been taken from the table while under the •igiit of the Court. Search for them was kept up until 4 a. m. the next mlt; ning. and was recommenced at '. M., the result being that 4 l\ M.box of tools was found iu the top of the balcony. ,
