s. *i*Boise TV Station Obtains Channel Six From KXFDFederal Communications Commission in Washington has givenits conditional approval to the transfer of a television construction permit from KFXD-TV in Nampa to KTVI-TV in Boise.Word of the FCC decision was received in Nampa today.Edward Hurt, manager of KFXD, said there will be no transfer of the building or equipment of KFXD-TV, which began telecasts last summer and later suspended operations.The commission’s okay willsimply allow Idaho Broadcasting and Television Company, operators of the proposed KTVI-TV, to use Channel 6 for which the Nampa station formerly held a permit.The federal agency approved the transfer on condition IdahoBroadcasting and Television Company gives up its original construction permit for Channel 0. It allowed the company until May 11 to complete construction under the Channel 6 permit.Hurt said the KFXD-TV transmitter building is still standing at Deer Point, in Boise NationalForest.The Nampa television station has “no immediate plans” to resume operation, Hurt said. Should telecasts be started again, he added, it will be necessary for KFXD-TV to obtain a new permit.
