Patton, deceased, panned peacefully away at her home in Washing too, on Monday lart Her remains | were conveyed to this place, her; rJ former home, the home of her son, -Vajor Robert W. Patton on Wed Third street.Mrs. Patton was one of the oldest residents of this place at the time cf her rein oval to Washington several years siuc“, where she lived virh her daughters, .tfri. A. Va She was wall informed on the history of the town and its families and bring a close reader hud stored. her mind with rnucb useful information about men and things.In recent years the infirmities of age, prevented her from going about as was her wont and she was moved about from one place to another on a wheeled chair.The funerd services were conducted at the residence of her son Major R. W Patton m W at Third street on Fridir Afternoon by Rev. R. F. Wilson, Rev William H. I) cker, Rev. Dr. Wallin und Her. David W. Woods were present. Major Robert W. Patton of Lewiston n delivered an impressive prayar standing closa by the side of his d ceased mother. The pall-bearers were her two sons, Major Robert W. Patton of Lewie town and George V\ Patton, Esq , of Charleston, Va., and her grandsons Robert Patton, Jr., and George Patterson. The day was an inclement one and as Grandma Patton bad a number of times expressed an aversion to interment under such conditions her remains were placed in a vault in the Presbyterian Cemetery fur the time being.—Free Press, January 22, 189G.
