!lt;•*! h of E. A. Frank*.Edward A. Franks, proprietor of the Mission House, Mackinac, and one of best known landlords of that famous summer resort, died last Monday, after a lingering illness. Mr. Franks had been a resident of the island for about thirty-four years, and proprietor of the Mission House twenty-nine years, and daring that time had made many warm friends, scattered all over the United States, who will sadly regret the decease of their genial host. He was a man universally liked, and was noted for his genial and social qualities. In his day he has entertained many of the noted men of the country, and probably enjoyed an as extended acquaintance as any other man in our state. In Cheboygan Mr. Franks was held in the highest esteem, and many here will join with the immediate frieuds in mourning his loss.Mrs. Franks is a sister of Mr. C. A# Sintdk, of our villuge. Mrs. Smnlk being summoned to Mackinac, was unable to get over until Tuesday.lbllrond .Hatter*.
