Midland Disrict, A virtue of a Writ to wit. of Fieri Facias, issu ed out of his Majesty’s Court of King’s Bench, and to me directed, against the lands and tenements of James North, at the full of James Robins, I have seized and taken in execution fot number twenty-six on Wet Bay, in the township of Marysburgh, county of Prince Edward, and distric aforesaid, con taining by admensurement two hundred acres, and an improvement of about 40 acres, be the same more or less, which will be adjudged to the highest bidder, at the gaol door 1 the town of Kingston, on the 16th day of April next, at the hour of ten o’clock in the fore noon. The house then went into committee on the bill from the legislative council relating to forging and counterfeiting, which com mittee oltained leave to sit again on Wed nesday, to which day the house adjourned. Mr. Papineau, sen. from the committee to whom the petition of the debtors confined in the Montreal jail, was referred, reported a bill to provide more fully for the support of prisoners confined for debt, which said bill was received and read a first time. A committee was named to examine the at to provide returning officers, and the ac for regulating the trial of contested elections, and to inquire and report, if any, and what amendments may be necessary to the same. Saturday, §.—Mr. Bourdages, from a spe cial committee to whom was referred the en grossed bill from the Legislative Council, for preventing the falsifying and counterfeiting of foreign bills of exchange c. reported the same with several amendments, which were, with the bill, committed to a committee of the whole house ; and the house being re sumed, several amendments were reported, which being agreed to, they were ordered to be engrossed. Tuesday, 8.—The bill to establish a house of industry at Montreal, was read a second time, according to order, and referred to a committee of the whole, which reported, and the question of concurrence was ordered to be put on the said report to-morrow. The bill to provide more fully for the support of prisoners confined for debt, was read a second time, and referred to a com mittee of the whole to-morrow. Mr. Papineau, fen. from the Special com reported a bill for mittee on expiring laws, the relief of foundlings and insane persons, which was read for the first time, and order ed to be read a second time to-morrow. Mr. Papineau, from the same committee, also presented a bill to continue for a limited time, an act for the better regulation of the militia, c. which was read for the fir time and ordered to be read a second time to-mor row. A bill for erecting a pridge over the river Montmorency, was read the first time, and ordered to be read a second time to-morrow. _ Wednesday, 9.—A message was received from the legislative council, acquainting the house that the council had passed the bill for ratifying the provisional agreement with Up per Canada, without amendment. The house went into committee on the a mendments reported yesterday, to the bill for creating a house of industry at Montreal, and the consideration of the last amendment was postponed to Saturday. The committee of the whole house on the bill to provide more amply for the support of prisoners. for debt, reported, and obtained leave to sit a gain on Friday. The bills for the support of foundlings, c. 2nd continuing the militia a, were read a second time, and referred to a com mittee of the whole house on Friday. The second reading of the Montmorency bridge bill was postponed to Friday. A committee of seven members was ap pointed to enquire if any amendments are ne cessary to the statute laws of this Province which direct the proceedings in courts of ju dicature.
