ALFRED — Seven jurors were selected yesterday in York County Superior Court in the gambling complety trial of Arnold Goldman, 39, of Ken nebunk. Prospective traverse members were questioned indi vidually by Jense Atty ‘Charles W. Smith and Assistant Atty. Gen. Daniel G. Lilley af ter the defense made three mo tions, two for dismissal and one for a Bill of Particulars. All the motions were denied by Justice Lincoln Spencer. The state exercised one per tempory challenge, the defense used four; each side is allowed eight challenges. Of the 19 = ers questioned yesterday, were excused for cause by the court. Goldman was arraigned in May, 1968 on conspiracy charg es ~_ gambling from April 5, 1 through Oct. 18, 1967 at Biddeford = “other places in York County.” The fread jury indictment charged Goldman, Lucien Therrien of Biddeford and Theresa Martelle of Portland with conspiring and agreeing together feloniously to commit a crime. . .“to engage in bookmaking illegally, mak ing, accepting and otherwise participating in wagers on horse races, sporting events
