Youth WeekAt Local ChurchThe young people of Wesleyan Methodist church will observe Wesleyan Youth Week, Jan* 30 - Feb. 6. The theme of the national observance will be ‘'Christ Is The Way.”Activities for the local Wesleyan Methodist youth include the reading of the Gospel of John and memory work in chapter 14 of John.Sunday morning, Jan. 30 the youth wilt be In charge of the Sunday school. Louis Merick will be acting as Sunday school superintendent; Steve Nabholz will be song leader; Wesleyan magazine solicitor will be Larry Nabholz; Vicky Burr will be pianist.Sunday school teachers will be Steve Nabholz, junior high class; Lee Freebem, sixth grade; Larry Nabholz, fourth and fifth grade; Terri Freebern, third grade; Linda Hoskins and Sheryl Subra, second grade; Louis Merick, first grade and Connie Reese, primary class.The Fev. Kenneth Rumppe of West Union, a former pastor of the Independence church will bethe featured speaker Monday and Tuesday evenings. Wednesday night there will be a marathon reading of the Gospel of John at the prayer meeting. Thursday night the youth will go ice skating and Friday night they will attend the basketball game in a group.The youth group have as their local project the purchase of folding tables for the Sunday school classrooms. They will also send an offering to national headquarters, which win be used to help send Wesleyan youth teams to Haiti and Jamaica in the spring.
