reports that a large super market chain is PLINNIE 1 Open Rowhit in Powerville this year were confirmed over the past weekend when Lucky Stores an nounced It would start construc tion on 17,000 square foot build ing on Broadway, east of Carson road. THE SU MARKEE chain, second largest on the West Coat, has acquired frontage on to south side of the street from Mr. amd Mrs. Dante Bacoccini, near the PGE service center and between Stout street and the Broadway motel. Construction of the new store will begin about April 1 and is scheduled for completion in time for It to open in October. Architectural plans are now being completed. Lucky Stores, Inc. was es tablished in 19217 on the San Francisco peninsula and now has 119 units from Seattle to San Diego THIS 18 THE most recent evi dence of growth in the Broad way area, and other stotes and commercial enterprises are re ported to be in the planning stages Broadway is now US 50, at construction of the east free way, scheduled for this year, will result._ in highway traffic being routed off this thorough fare which will become a city street upon completion of the project in 1961
