GRIMSHAW — Unanimous support of an ambulance service was given when Grimshaw town council held their January meeting, councillors expressing the view that since there is no doctor in Grimshaw the service was ‘‘a great necessity” Assurance was given that a qualified and certified driver would be provided; council was asked to pay for license and insurance and provide a stretcher. The secretary-treasurer was asked to represent the town at meetings of the recreation board. Mayor Jack Kennedy was appointed to represent the town at meet ings of Peace River School Division and Paul Mercier as representative at hospital board meetings. Dogs have had their day, councillors decided, and the by-law to regulate dogs running at large is to be strictly enforced. Animals running at large contrary to provisions of the by-law are to be impounded and confined for three days and unless it is redeemed through payment of license and the sum of $5.00 for each day of incarcera tion, it is to be put to death. Puppies become dogs when they are six months old, councillors decided, and draw attention to the fact that licenses bought in 1959 have expired.
