According to CapL StidhamThat'sbecnethanand□niaof the Peterson, the storm hit the ship very suddenly when she was off Davidson Glacier in Lynn Canal and for a time the lititle vessel had a rough time of it. One of the davits on the boad was badly bent and a life boait swept overhead and never seen again. The Peterson had been near the Chilfcat river salvaging a piledriver and scow that had gone adrifit and after rescuing that left in search of the Diana. Captain Sted-ham said, today that he covered all the distance rwest ot the Chilhat islands, the west shore of Lynn Canal and St. James Bay land as far south as Poinfc Retreat. He found no trace of the missing veaeel.
