Final Examination of the first se mester this Thursday and Friday. We are beginning to steal the’ Championship in Basket Ball. Our’ boys came home Saturday last with Nampa’s scalp dangling from their belts. On Saturday evening, January 30 will be the fastest game of the seas son, Mountain Home against Emmett. Encourage the boys by your pre sence and support. Febuary 1 begins our second se mester’s work. The new subjects taken up will be book keeping, civics, economics and botany. A large number has enrolled in the book keeping class. The first contest between the Athen ians and Sparatans was held in the Auditorium on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. This year prizes are to the individual medals of solid silver. The program consisted of declama tions, by the freshmen, argumenta tive essays by the sophomores, book reviews by the junors and orations by the seniors. Three points were ‘won by the Spartans and one by the Athenians as follows: Harold Haylor, Argumentative e3 ‘say, “Fortification of Panama Canal.” Grace Cook, book review, “Bitter Sweet.” Lottie Canady, oration, “Patriotism. Dora Knox won for the Athenians in declamation, sedestion, “Grandpa Keeler Going to Church.” Don't forget the Basket Ball Sat urday, January 30. A number of patrons visited the auditorian Wednesday afternoon. We are pleased to welcome you at all times.
