The big safe was tampered with but en- ^ trance was not gained. After knocking out the bolts that held the leaves of the hinges together the two sections of the hinges were taken off but to no avail. A sheep- . lined coat and a pair of mittens in ( the office were taken. The office Hoots were mussed up considerable, but up to noon today the loss is confined to the coat and mittens. tiThe village blacksmith shop, n operated by Soren Christenson, was p entered through a window. Mr. Christenson’s Ford coupe, in the ■ » shop, was stolen. The motor num / .; her is 18-409-185 and the 1939 li-|cense plates (still on) were ^ ’ '13-151,498. Besides the car an alarm i clock was stolen and the whole shop rifled with things left strewn si about tbe floor and benches.
