Chiraeo. Jan. 22.—A panic among the guests of the W;n«!em0:0 hotel. Fifty-sixth street and Cornell avenue, followed the explosion. Sunday, of a steam biller In the basement, which resulted In the death of John Rapkoch. engineer, ar.d the serious Injury of Mrs. Seeta May, a guest. The explosion partly wrecked the hotel building and dam-need adjacent residences and apartment buildlns.
