Wencl Kasl was born in’ ‘Plizen, Bohemia, December, 8, 1818, where he was reared to manhood. He was married to Kate Hachov on the 16th of March 1842. They moved to Tima Iewa, in 1857 where they ‘lived for 14 years, moving to Kansas in 1871 where Mr.Kasl homesteaded the northeast quarter of section 8 in Jef ferson township, Republic, county, where he resided until his death. Mr. and Mrs. Kass lived together for 62 years, ‘and were blessed with augments and one daughter, five of whom are living. He sunk peaceful to rest on Jan. the 18th, aged 86 years, 1 month and 10 days. His wife and most of his children were at his bedside when the end came. He leaves a wife five children, 44 grand children and 48 great grand children. Also a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his departure The ‘funeral services took place on Friday, Jan. 20th at the home in the presence of a large congregation of sympathizing neighbors and friends, conducted by Mr. Anton Vanous, all the inter ment took place in the Tabor ‘Ceme tery. Leave to his memory. The bereaved family have the deep sympathy of the entire community.
