Found Floating In Waters of Glasgow Harbor. NSPECTOR GENERAL McCOWEN it has just received from the Superin tendent of Police, Glasgow, the follow ing letter relative to the finding of the dead body of a Newfoundlander, named Bartholomew Leet (the Superintendent makes it Leat, but there are no persons of the latter name,so far as we can learn, at Fogo) floating in the waters of Glas gow harbor. As will be observed from the letter, information is wanted with a view to further identification of the de ceased ! — GLASGOW, Janath, 1903, DEAR SIR,—I hereby annex the de scription of the dead body, of a man found floating in the harbor there on the 27hh ultime, and which has not been identified. In the pocket of the jacket was found a seaman’s discharge-book, bearing the following particulars, viz.— “ Bartholomew Leet, place of birth Fogo, Newfoundland, last address, St. 's, Newfoundland;” and from the w made it has been ascertained that on 28th October, 1902, at the last-named place, he signed as trimmer on board the 5.8. Sitemen of this city, making a voy age to Philadelphia and from thence * here, where he was discharged from said vessel on the Sth November last. Prior to the time of joining the Siterion he was engaged on board a fishing vessel. FE shall feel obliged by your causing inquiry to be made with the view of tracing the deceased's relatives, and letting me know the result. Yours truly, WM. DOUGLAS, Superintendent. Dressed in blue serge suit, light wineey shirt, white cotton drawers, grey stockings and hiced boots.
