Departed this life at his residence near Mt. Crawford, Va., January 19, 1897, Mr. B. N. Switzer; aged 75 years, 7 months, and 27 days. lie married Miss Kebecca Foltz, a sister of Mr. John P. Foltz, Tenth Legion, Va. Bro. Switzer leaves a devoted wife, bright, loving daughter, a son, a sister, live brothers, many relatives and friends to mourn his departure, but not as those who have no hope.Bro. S. was a zealous member of St. Jacobi, Bethany, Evangelical Lutheran congregation, Rockingham county, Va.We learned to know this highly esteemed brother about fifteen years ago. He was an affectionate husband, a very kind and indulgent father, an excellent citizen, kindly dismissed by many, and especially by his pastor and family, to whom be had endeared himself, and by whom he was highly esteemed. He often visited his pastor. His visits were always pleasant and profitable, causing all to feel happy and encouraged. He was always ready to do his full duty with pleasure in uur church work. Bro. S. had been in delicate health for several years previous to his death, during which time he read the Bible carefully, and many other edifyiug and instructive books. lie was too feeble for awhile to attend church, but he received the holy communion regularly at his once pleasant home.U
