Pair arrested after morning drug bust■ Raid marks fifth by task force since year’s startBy Jessica SandersStaff WriterA couple suspected of dealing cocaine was arrested early Thursday at a New Braun-fels motel.At 3 a.m., investigators raided a room at R o d e w a y Inn at 1209 N. Business 35 andreportedly Lovell Lamont found less Ruc*er than an ounce of cocaine, as well as a small amount of marijuana, Zanex and Lcsta-cy, said Capt. Dennis Koepp, commander of the Comal County Metro Narcotics TaskForce.Lovell Lamont Rucker, 43, was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one counteach of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver possession of marijuana.His wife, Monique Denise Rucker, 22, was arrested on one count each of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of marijuana, police said.Koepp said he did notknow the couple’s permanentaddress, but b e 1 i e v e d they hail been living in the motel room for aMonique few weeks,Denise Rucker at least.The pairwas not employed by the motel, he said.“They were believed to be dealing cocaine from their motel room, he said. “There were a lot of household items, such as blankets andclothes that made it look likeSee RAID, Page 3A
