Raymond Silkwood, former partner in Frank’s Cleaners which was sold to Lyndal Stone and Roy Kirkpatrick several weeks ago, this week announced the opening of his own clean ing establishment to be known as Fashion Cleaners on North Emma Street. Mr. Silkwood has been busy the past several weeks instal ling pressing equipment, includ ing a steam boiler, in the build ing formerly occupied by Toots Douglas Jewelry store. Mr. Douglas has moved next door into the space formerly occu pied by Dorothy’s Beauty Parlor. A veteran, Mr. Silkwood work ed for Hart Farmer in the clean ing business following his return from service in the navy in Jan uary of 1946. He later was part owner in Frank’s cleaners. Mr. Silkwood also announced free delivery and pick-up service in connection with his new busi ness. The community wishes him well in his new undertaking.
