Homer L. Fickes, a summer resi dent of Imler and a carpenter by trade, died unexpectedly last Fri day at his home in Schenectady, N. Y. The deceased was born in Imler on April 14, 1892, a son of Sidney and Amanda (Imler) Fickes. He and the former Rose Pearl Gates of St. Clairsville were united in marriage on July 24, 1919. In addition to his widow, he is survived by one brother, Harry, of Imler R. D., and two Sisters, Mrs. Nellie Ruppert, and Mrs. Ada Ner ger, both of Long Island, N. Y. Mr. Fickes served with the Navy from 1911 until 1914, when he re ceived an honorable discharge. He was a member of the Imler Luth eran Church. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Osterburg Lutheran Church. Interment was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Osterburg, under the di rection of the Carn Funeral Home, Claysburg.
