This he offered to theBritish Government. Experts admitted that it was a valuable devicebut as it would cost about X*2l) 000’to build enough of the instruments to handle ail the motor transportvehicles in the British Army, theyreluctantly felt they would just have to “try to get. along without It.” Subsequently it took the UnitedStates Army just ten days4 to decide that they wanted the invention and it was adopted as standard equipment for all United Stales tank, tractor and motor transport.
