K. 31. Skillen/s Duroe Sale.Hr. R„ M* Skillen, of Greene, lowa, will hold his first public sale of Duroe Jersey bred sows on Saturday, February 4th. He will offer an extra good bunch of gilts at that time, which will meet with public favor, will have plenty of size and quality and excellent breeding. A largd part of them are granddaughters of Ohio Chief and La-Follette. They are bred to Chuck's Model, one of the good sons of old Model Chief and out of Queen Advancer 5th by Advancer. He is practically a full brother in blood to Model j Chief 2d, the grand champion boar at the Iowa State Fair in 1908. Chuck's Model has proven himself an excellent breeding boar and those who buy sows in this sale bred to him will be fortunate. Prices wall not be high, as this is Mr. Skillen’s first sale, and he wants every man who buys a sow to make monev on her. Greene is on the main line of the Rock Island between Burlington and Minneapolis. The train service is good and a goodly number or breeders should turn out to this sale, as Mr. Skillen is building up a herd with an aim in view to make it as good as the best.
