JO THE AFFLICTED AND UNFORTUNATE.The Legislature lias made ample provision for the education of the indigent Deaf and Dunih, between the ages of ten and forty. As Commissioner, appointed by the Executive to carry out this humane design, 1 hereby call upon the parents and guardians of such unfortunate persons to* entrust them to my care, that 1 may conveythem to the Institution at Hartford,*Connecticut, and superintend their education there.I promise all interested, that those placed under my care shall receive every attention in my power—that I will go in person with them to Hartford, and see their wants well | provided for, according to my best ability.Those inclined to avail themselves of this noble charity of the State are requested to be at mv house in Clinton, or at Mrs.rIluson’s Hotel in Millcdgeville, by the loth of April next, whence they will proceed in j a few days to the North.I appeal to the friends o! humanity to aid me in this business. Many of the poor for whose benefit this advertisement is made may not read the papers of the day. Will you not go to them, explain this matter, assure them that their children or wards shall he no expence to them, and that the Commissioner will do his utmost to promote their comfort and improvement.J, II.
