Jane Davis, former president of the Historic Aiken Foundation, feels that Aiken Elementary would be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.She commented, “Replacing the school would be far more expensive than renovating it, and the cost would be a tremendous burden to be borne by taxpayers all over the county.”
