Ella Sieder to Become 102Mrs; EUa May Lusk Sieder, a descendant of one of Newark'sher 102nd birthday on Sunday.She is Newark’s No. 1 senior citizen.Mrs* Sieder, -who makes her-home with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Gallagher, 414 E* Union St., is the daughter of Jacob Lusk, who in 1873 held the office of both supervisor of the Town of Arcadia and president of the Village of Newark, according to landmarks of* Wayne County.”Her grandfather, Jacob Lusk, owned a hitching bam, and h|s son, Jacob, followed in his footsteps, and also conducted an undertaking business. The first Jacob Lusk donated.the ground for the site of the first schodl house in Newark. Joseph Miller purchased 100 acres of land from Jacob* Lusk in 1820 and had it surveyed into village lots*f *-JELLA MAY SIEDERMrs. Sieder was an employee of the Newark State School for a number of years until her retirement at 70 in 1941. She claims * the distinction of working under *she was first employed there ansi after her marriage to John Gallagher she was employed there until her son was bom.Following her husband's death she was re-employed at the State School where she left in 1926 to marry Cbafles Sieder. She was reemployed under that name in 1930.\Mrs* Seeder's grandfather oWned what is now Patsy's Market which wiDsoon bedemolished in Newark's downtown urban renewal area. The red briek structure was built on the site, of the present Main St, canal bridge and was moved to its present site when the Erie Barge Canal was dug through Newark, The building, which housed Lusk's undertaking business, was known as(Continued on Page 5)
