Bulloch, who has been with the bank since 1934, and cashier for a number of years, now becomes Vice-President, a fine recognition of his faithful service to the institution of which he has been a vital part for 18 years. Recognition is given to Mr. D. C. Hutchings who becomes Assist ant Vice-President, this being a new office created by the board. In turn, Mr. A. F. Kim brough becomes Cashier of the tank and three assistant Cash ierg have been named, as fol lows: Mrs. Lila Lee Davis, R. Bruce McRae and Francis H. Hancock. The Commercial Bank of this city has increased its capital stock from $100,000 to $200,000 and reduced the par value of its shares from $100.00 to $10.00 and announces to the public the addition of two prominent young business executives as members of the board of directors. At the same time, Mr. J. Truman Holland, Sr., becomes chairman of the board, and L. D. Ferguson, Presi der of Commerce and at various deat of the Dar at the times has been affiliated with ao annual meeting of the stock holders held Monday of this week, and at the meeting of the board of directors which followed. The stockholders voted to in crease the capital stock from $100,000 to $200,000 by authorizing a stock dividend. At the same time the par value of the stock was re duced from $100.00 to 10.00. At this meeting, Messrs. J. L. Fritz Roberts, President of the Sunnyland Packing Co., and Bol ing Jones, III., assistant to the president, Mr. R. C. Balfour, Jr., of the Georgia Crate Basket Company, were named to the board of directors. All of the former members of the board were re-elected, making a total of ten directors. Those re elected are: Messrs. J. Truman Holland, Sr., T. 8. Green, Elmer T. Horne,Dr. H. M. Moore, Robert E. 8Stringer, Jr., L. D. Ferguson, W. J. Miller and W. B. Bullock. Holland Becomes Chairman Board of Directors Changes were made in the offic ial set-up of the bank, by which Mr. Truman Holland, one of the original organizers of the bank in 1916 becomes chairman of the board. He has been as director since organization of the bank, served, as its first cashier, as vice president and upon the death of the late J. W. Horne, in 1934 he became president, having served in this capacity for the past 19 years. Mr. Holland is well known in banking circles, being a past pres ident of the Georgia Bankers As sociation, a former member of the Executive Council and of the finance Committee of the Ameri can Bankers Association. He has been honored on various occasions by banking groups, and in the civic Use of Thomasville has serv ed in numerous capacities. His elevation to the post of chairman of the board is a signal recognition of his untiring efforts in behalf of the bank with which he has been associated since it was organized and in the or ganization of which he was a lead ing factor. Ferguson New President Succeeding Mr. Holland, as President, is Mr. L. D. Ferguson, who became associated with the bank in 1924 as Cashier. He was elected Vice-President in 1984 and subsequently became Executive Vice-President in 1943. He has been a director of the bank for many years and détively identified with the community life here. He is a past President Thomasville Ki wanis Club and Past District Secretary Georgia District of Ki wanis. He is a trustee John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital, Chair man Thomas County Welfare Board, Director Chamber of Com merce, Campaign Chairman, Thomasville Community Chest 1952-53 and for over 20 years has been Treasurer of the First Bap tist church, in addition to serving in many other ways the city and county of which he is a very Popular citizen. Other Official Ch Other changes in the banks official organization include the elevation of W. J. Miller, Jr., to the office of Executive Vice- President, succeeding Mr. L. D. Ferguson, the new President. Mr. Miller has been with the bank since 1932 and prior to his asso ciation with this bank was en gaged in the banking business in Thomasville for several years. His rise in local banking circles has been outstanding. He is a grad uate of the Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University, of New Brunswick, New Jersey, and at this time is Chairman of the Installment Credit Commit tee of the Georgia Bankers’ As sociation, and next week will preside at a conference of this committee meeting in Atlanta. He has served as a member of the board of directors of the Chain- New Directors Well Known Executives The election of Messrs.’ Rob erts and Jones to memmbership on the board of directors brings into the official family of this institution two outstanding young executives. Mr. J. L. (Fritz) Roberts, is President of the Sunnyland Pack ing Co., and the Sunnyland Poul try Co. of this city; President of the Roberts Packing Co., Gainesville, Fla, the Jackson Packing Company, Marianna, Fla., and the Georgia Packing Com pany, Lakeland, Ila. He is rec ognized as one of the leading independent packers and business eoxecutives in the Southeast. Mr. Roberts is a Thomas county boy, whose parents and grand parents were among the early settlers of Pavo, where he spent his early life. As a young man he was employed in Moultrie by the Moultrie Banking Company and for six years was connected with Swift Company in that city. In 1932 he and associates ventured into the packing plant business in Thomasville right in the heart of the depression era. From a very small plant, he has been instrumental in developing one of the largest and most suc cessful meat packing institutions in the entire Southland with the several affiliated plants. He brings to the Commercial and’s board of directors a Wealth of experience and busi ness training, a fine personality and wide acquaintance in this entire section where he has been prominently identified with vari ous civic and religious activities. He has served as a member of the Board of Drectors Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Deacons of the First Baptist church, and for a number of years has been chairman of the Baptist Home committee of the local church and a generous con tributor to the home. To the various local organizations he has given liberally of his time, tal ents and means to their support and development. Bolling Jones Hr., Comes From Family In the election of Bolling Jones, NL, to become a director of this bank, recognition is given to the fact that his forebears for many years have been engaged in the banking business and prominently identified with the financial and industrial life of Georgia. . Mr. Jones is a grand nephew of Bolling Jones, Sr., one of the founders of the Fulton National Bank, Atlanta; a nephew of Har rison Jones, retired chairman of the Coca-Cola Company and Di rector of the Fulton National Bank, Atlanta. He is a son of Bolling Jones, Jr., member of the Executive Committee of the Ful ton National Bank, Atlanta, and Robert W. Woodruff, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Coca-Cola Company is an uncle. Connected with the Georgia Crate Basket Co., of this city.
