Island SchoolOpens Monday» v *gThe Dauphin Maud public school, which has occupied a Status of enforced suspension for about three months because fire of undetermined but suspected incendiary origin destroyed all available housing facilities, is scheduled to be reopened tomorrow in its new building.It was announced at the depart-# -—-roent of education yesterday ■ that construction on the building, constating of three classrooms and an assembly room, has been sufficiently completed for occupancy the first of the week. It is a frame structure.Enrollment in the Dauphin Island •achool approximates 73 children. The tegular school building was burned to the ground by a mysterious fire a few months ago. Temporary facilities obtained pending replacement of the building experienced a similar fate shortly after the school wasftransferred there. The source of neither fire has never been established. although official investigations were promptly launched and a large number of Dauphin Island citizens expressed hope in a letter to the school board that responsibility could be fixed.Extension of the school term until later in the summer than ordinary to make up the lost time was discussed several weeks ago, but it was said doubtful yesterday that thisplan will be carried out. .......
