He was an Indian fighter, he was one of the men who helped to make the West habitable, he was one who finally gave one of the wonderful spectacles of Wild West show. The men who so fear lessly fought for the honest civilization, who followed Col. Cody are men who are sometimes needed. Such a life stimulates courage in the coming generations. While it is true that some of the lessons are mislearned, yet those who go into the life and conduct of Cody will get a good lesson.Denver paid him as high a tribute% • •as any city could have paid any man. There was a vast throng who passed throngh and looked on his remains. .
