Oliver Yohe got with one of the girls and started to go; awav with her. The VanNess boys were riled to the blood and they started after them, who by this time were '.in their sleigh and driving away at ajrapid speed. William VanNess drew a large knife and stabbed Yohe in jthe back causing a deep and dangerous wound. He was taken to his home and the last we beard from him, there was not much hope for his recovery. There is a desperate effort bi?hig made to hush the matter up an4 keep it out of the newspapers, but wje succeeded in getting sufficient information to give the above facts. The! officers got after the Van Ness boy* and succeeded inarresting Dan andbound him oyerfor grand jury action in the sum of 1500 on a charge of I assault and battery -with intent to kill, William, who did the; stabbing, skipped out for parts not known to the officers and has not since been heard from.
