He said, “I took u piece of cotton rag andspread some of the salve on it and *wrapped it arouud m v toe, then I pulled ' boot on and went on deck. It blew \ right hard a coming lt;ut of Wrangei, cj anc^for two days and nights I never ^ got uiy clothes off. Down abreast of ^ Skeen, it begin to moderate and I cmi /eluded I'd lay down a while, for 1 was jdead beat out. So I got the bootjack i and off came the boot, but it was a queer sensation, for 1 pulled the stocking off too. Come to look at it and there was the denied toe inside of the j stocking, but it cured the corn, you bet. The man that sold me that salve j c wouldn't lie for a quarter.
