Students, Faculty Attend WorkshopsA series of communication workshops on ‘ Inner Change” sponsored by the Carl Sandburg Student Services bureau and open to all students and faculty, will be held February 2 and March 2.These Saturday workshops will be held at the Southwest YMCA • Barn.” 3000 West 127 street. Blue Island from 9 a.m. to 3 p in. and admission is free. Workshops will be led by staff members from the Region five Drug Education Training Resources center, a project of the U. S. Office of Education.Students have been recruited at the high school to participate in these ‘‘communication workshops.” said Jacqueline Myers, dean of girls at Sandburg. Registration is limited to the first 125 peopleACCORDING TO Miss My-•ers. a group will be selected from these 125 recruits to assistin a program that will open up communications with the freshman students.Learning workshops have been attended intermittent by-Sandburg students and faculty since the beginning of the school year, concerning the problems of youth, and how best to deal with them.In the fall. Miss Myers. Sandi Steffek. another teacher, and three students. John Debacher, Jonathan Frenzen and Stasia Magiera; and Sandburg Student Services director, Steve Frickson attended a two week program also taught by the Region Five Drug Education Training Resources personnel.On December 5, a series of Youth Services Department workshops was attended by-Steve Erickson, and students Wendy Hodges and Jim Kapus-tiak The Students attended a workshop entitled “Dealing With Drugs in the Community.”
