(UPI) — 1Darlyn Thornberry, representing Plainfield, won the right to I compete in the American Junior Miss Pageant in Mobile, Ala., when she was crowned Indiana Junior Miss here Saturday night.The 18-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alden Thornberry of Clayton won the top honors after being selected as first in preliminary judging for* poise and appearance. A senior at Cascade High School, Miss .Thornberry will compete in the national contest May 5-9.First runnerup was Miami County's Mary Ann McCann, 17, a senior at AMcanaquah High School. Second was Anne Gates,17, Columbia City; third, Lyn-ette Hazelbaker, 17, Muncie; and fourth, Brenda Groves, 17, Bloomfield, representing Greene County.Spirit of Junior Miss honors went to Whiteland's entry, Patti Morris, 17, Franklin—the award was voted on by contestants in +he contest.
