W. H. Howard and Carl Martin were St. Louis visitors one day this week. The Coterie enjoyed a pleasant evening, Tuesday, at the home of Mrs Hoyt Garrett. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Logan spent Friday in Glenwood, Mo., at the parental C. H. Moore home. Mrs. B. B. Berry ,and daughter, Charlotte, and Mrs. Paul McDanel spent Friday in Des Moines. Mrs. Lettie Daniels returned last week from visiting relatives in Moline, Rock Island and Davenport. Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Palmer and daughter, Elaine, of Moravia, visit ed the L. B. Swartz home Friday evening. William Heintze is expected home from Parsons college, Fairfield, Fri day for a few days vacation , be tween semesters. “The M. F. Club met with Mrs. R. K. Oldham, Tuesday, for a one o'clock luncheon. Mrs. G. L. Bovard was a guest of the club. Mrs. Frances DeCapito, of, Brook field, Mo., visited from Saturday until Monday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Tabitha Edwards. Mrs. Tom Heaton, of Lancaster, Mo., was operated on in the St. Joseph Centerville, Tuesday. Mrs. Heaton formerly lived in Moulton. (Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wood and two sons spent Thursday and Fri day in Des Moines, where they vis ited Mrs. Wood’s mother, Mrs. Voss. E. R. Moen, Dr. George Davis, Alvah Bennett, R. R. Eby, and Verne Wood took in the Indiana- Iowa Basket Ball game, Saturday night at Iowa City. The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl King was buried last Thurs day. ‘Mrs... King, whose condition was considered serious for a time, is steadily improving. The local I. C. O. F. lodge had degree work at their hall, Monday night. Work is also planned for next Monday night. Members are urged to come out for the meeting. The P. M. Bridge club met with Mr. and Mrs. Dick Eby, last Thurs day evening, with four tables at play. High honors were won by Mrs. G. L. Bovard and Frank Aus tin. Ed. Evans, former Moulton resi dent but now living 1 Bloomfield, is now serving as doorkeeper in the senate chamber of the Iowa General Assembly. He started his duties last week, _ Mr. and Mrs. Sam Davis and son Thurman, Mrs. Roy Kirby and Mrs. John Starr were called to Marengo, Iowa, Monday by the death of Gar land Frances, infant son, of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Davis. The two month old child was buried Monday. The Moulton string orchestra gave a music party at the James Badger home in Moulton Wednes day evening. The music was direct ed by Ray Davison. Other players were Bert Pickens, Tex Stober, Clint Bybee, Harley Childs and Bill Martin. Mrs. Alice Rector, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Beggs , and daughters attended the funeral of the former’s brother in law, Frank Rector, in Bloom field, Sunday. Mr. Rector died Fri day morning at his home near Troy, following an illness of sev eral weeks’ duration. ‘The R. N. A.’ camp of Moulton is one of the lodges invited to attend the installation services to be held by ‘the Royal Neighbor Camp of ‘Centerville, Thursday evening in the I. O.O. F. hall there. At 6:30 a co-operative dinner will be serv ed, followed by the initiation and installation. Other camps included are Corydon, and Exline.
