AUTHOR OF MEASURE SEEKS TO BETTER CONTROL PROSTITU TION AND OTHER EVILS Indianapolis, Jan. 23.A drastic “mashine” bill, which is designated to provide better control of prostitu tion and attendant evils in Indiana cities was introduced in the tower house of the Indiana legislature by Representative Miller, of Indianapo lis. The measure originates with the Church Federation of Indianapolis. The bill provides: ‘Any person over the age of six teen, who approaches or accosts any other person and by word, sign or gesture suggests, solicits, invites or encourages such other persons to commit an unlawful, immoral, lewd, indecent or unnatural act, or whoever meets, accompanies or associates with any other person for the purpose of committing or inducing, enticing, so liciting or encouraging such other person to commit any unlawful, im moral, lewd, indecent or unnatural act shall upon conviction be fined in any sum not exceeding $200, to which may be added imprisonment in county jails not exceeding six months.” The federation also will support the fight to be waged against legalizing Sunday motion picture shows, urge passage of the Wright prohibition amendments, and ask legislation making it illegal to register under a fictititious name at a hotel.
