High Point Enterprise : Last Friday morning Mr. P. N. Wheeler revenue storekeeper, left his place of business at the still of Mr. Peter Foust to go to the postofiice, but not returning in a reasonable length of j time search was begun, proving fruitl -ss, and tinallv great excitement prevailed. The search, however, continued until Monday evening, when his wife with a lady friend found him lying dead beside a path, where it appeared ho had been drag ged after having been murdered On examination it. was discovered Ihat he had a scar on the back of his head and his neck was broken, showing conclusively that he came to his death by a stroke on his head, which broke his neck.
