Frequently, as the long hours wore away, eh© was heard, sobbing and moaning, and crying for her babe? Early yesterday morning the assistant Jailor was iit~ tracted by an unusual noise, ami go-jog to her cell, found her in tho act of hanging herself. She was using a scarf, she had been permitted to take into the cell, for this purpose. Yes-3 ter day she was permitted to walk a t short spell in the corridors. .She ex-I bibited great alarm, and several times b undertook to hide herself. She says now that her husband had threatened to take her babe from her, and send her to a cmy house-” Her husband visited her yesterday. She professed a desire to talk privately with him.
