It was tough going, but I didn’t give up. Bush. He and Hicks are friends, they sat together at the Rangers opener last season and Hicks is a major contributor to Bush’s presidential campaign.It would not be without precedent for a Texas governor or presidential candidate to participatein the Port Arthur News Homecoming Roast. Ann Richards was the roastee in 1992 when she was governor. One of the roasters that year was a presidential candidate named Bill Clinton.A proposal has been made to Joe Allbaugh, Bush’s chief of staff.and a response is awaited.
