Lorette - The Dawson Trail Motor Inn, Mushing for Mira cles and the Lorette Snoburners Club have announced “Riding for Miracles,” a poker derby in support of Mushing for Mira cles. Riding for Miracles will take place Saturday, February 1O beginning at the Dawson Trail Motor Inn in Lorette. Registration will take place from 9 AM. to 1 PM. at the Inn's restaurant where a pancake breakfast will be avail able for $1.99. Competitors will be allowed to register at any of the check points but they must finish at the Dawson Trail Motor Inn. Check points are at the Ste. Poker Derby for Miracles Anne Hotel, the La Broquerie Hotel, the Marchand Hotel and the Richer Inn. Food will be avail able at each of the check points. The finish is at the Dawson Trail Motor Inn. A steak dinner will be available at the finish from 5 PM. to 8 PM. for $3.99. The run will be about 80 miles. First prize is 25% of the entry pool, second prize is 15% of the pot and third prize is 10% of the entry pool. Forty percent of the pot will go to Mushing for Miracles and 10% to the Lorette Snoburners. Entry is $6.00 for the first hand and $4.00 for the second hand. Organizers are looking for competitors as well as workers for the poker derby. Individuals, snowmobile clubs and service clubs are invited to give a hand. Cancer research and summer camps for kids with cancer will be the big winners. Riding for Miracles is just one of the many events that will be taking place in southern Manitoba in associa tion with the Mushing for Mira cles dog sled run set for Febru ary. The town of Lorette has been heavily invaled with Mushing for Miracles. Now they need and deserve our support for a worthy project.
