50 YEARS AGO — Fifty thousand dollars in currency was transferred from Napoleon to the Liberty State bank by Marshal Ross Liddle, Fire Department Driver Charles Bales, Councilman Frank Diehlman and City Solicitor Lawrence E. Warden, all heavily armed. They were accompanied by former Treasurer Earl Wirick, a crack pistol shot.
