Bill King, 25 years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl King, has been offered a contract to pitch for the St. Louis Browns Club of the American Lea gue. This was disclosed the past week when a letter from that club stated they would offer him a con tract for $150.00 per month and, that is, he signed it he would be sent to spring training with the Hannibal Mo.ball club, a team subsidized by The Browns. Hannibal is in the Cen tral Association, is a Class C league. Most players who are given the opportunity to break into big time baseball are generally started in a Class D league, so it speaks well for Bill that he is being given the chance to work out with a club of higher rating. Bill has been recently discharged from the Army and indicates he will sign his contract and try out with the club, when a spring training be gins.
