j. HARTLEY BUSH IS HONOREEAT SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTYficwl:kilAT COUNTRY HOME ON SUNDAYiJ. Hartley Bush was honored at a surprise party given at his home on Route Six, Laurel Sunday in celebration of his seventy-second birthday.The party was planned and attended by about seventy-five relatives and friends. The crowd began arriving about 10 a. m. and in spite of the damp weather everyone enjoyed renewing acquaintances until 12 o’clock noon when a bountiful dinner was spread on the porch*After M. Pigford returned thanks everyone served himself buffet style. It is reported that with the exception of two members who did not get enough potato salad there was more food on the tables than could be eaten. The birthday cake was baked by Mrs. Roy Bush, niece of the honoree.During the celebration it was discovered that the day was also the anniversary .of the birth of one cf the guests, Mrs. May Allred, who was 69 years old.After dinner and until the guests left at 4 p. m. the crowd enjoyed the afternoon, singing songs from the new and the old Sacred Harpsong books.The following is the list of thosepresent and among the number aresix grandchildren of Mr. Bush: Mr. and J.
