To Lewis Armey, an Old Citizen ' Soldier, who Passed awayWHILE HE SAT IN A CHAIRAt His Home Near this .Place on Tuesday Morning, January 20,—Heart Farilure the Cause.Lewis Armey, aged about 7i years, living just east of town,^suddenly expired, onf,Tuesday morning about 7 o'clock, while sitting in a chair by the stove, engaged in shelling corn for the chickens.Mr. Armey was an old president of this vioinity well known and respected by a largo circle of friends and acquaintances.• He hnd not been feeling well for some days, attributing his indisposition to rheumatism; bat was not confined to bis bed nor to the honse as be had been up townonly a day or two before bis death and was able to chore about the place on the same morning up to the hour he was stricken with heart failure, expiring before any assistance could be rendered.His sudden death is a sad shock to the family and relatives, a number of whom reside a distance from hereTwo sons, John and Joseph, and one daughter, Gasete reside in North Dakota. The sad news was immediately wired them; but it is not known at the writing of this article, at what time they can reach here. It is the intention if possible, to hold the funeral on Friday at 10 o’clock. Services will be conducted at the Ulery, German Baptist Cbnrcb, five miles east of Silver Lake. Undertaker Burdge will have charge of the remains.The frequenoy^onsimilar announcements during tne past few months, in this vicinity, is very remarkable and gives rise to many conjectures as to the possible oanse of so many deaths from “heart failure.”Mr. Armey was’.an old soldier, having served four years during the civil war.
