(From Monday's Daily.) Susan, the wife of Leslie G. Carlton, died in this city at noon yesterday, after a long illness. The death is peculiarly sad. Mr. Cartl ton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Carlton of 1303 N. Nevada avenue, and is the manager of the Colorado Trading and Transfer company In Cripple Creek. Three years ago he brought his bride to Colo rado. ‘They had been children together In Warren, illnois, playmates and sweet hearts all their lves and the world seemed very bright to them, but In a short time Mrs. Carlton became afflicted with the disease that finally caused her death. Although a great sufferer she was bright, courageous and hopeful to the end. A resident of Colorado only a short time Mrs. Carlton by her many lovely and womanly traits made warm friends, who join in sorrow with the young husband and relatives because of her early death. Funeral services are to be held this afternoon at the residence of H. M. Carl ton, 1803 N. Nevada avenue, at 3 o'clock. The remains are to be taken east this evening, accompanied by the husband, Mr. A. E. Carlton and Miss Ella Carl ton. A PEYTON PARTY—A jolly party of Peyton people were entertained in this city Saturday evening by Mr. and Mrs. O. Spangler of 1516 North Corona street. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. John Spangler, Mrs. D. D. Bemis, Miss Libbie Wood, Miss Lizzie Bemis, Miss Stella Williams, Miss Rena Hendricks, Paul Haase and Frank Clingham. MALLOY-WILLIAMS—James Mal loy and Miss Annie Williams were united in marriage by Rev. E. Evans Carrington at his residence on Satur day evening. Mr. Malloy is a Cripple Creek mining man but the couple will make their home in this city. There was a merry lot of hoboes in the city jall last night and they spent most of the night in singing songs and marching around the cage. Irish songs seemed to be the favorite and Three Leaves of Shamrock” and ‘Wearing of the Green” could be heard some distance from the city ‘hall.
