Pinch of Battle Creek was in the city yesterday and. talked about the probabilities of further measures being taken in regard to the death o? young Richard Miller a year or so ago. Miller’s body was found in ait old sand pit and it was supposed that his death liadbeen caused by a fall of sand. It was some 1 'ime after his disappearance that the ( body was found and rewards were of- , iVri'd. Mr, Pinch offered one of $25,A Mrs, Willard claimed the rewards. ■ Her storv was that she had dreamed of I Hie location of the boy’s body. Dream lt;•r not the officers found it where she had said they would. Many suspected 1 that she knew more about the matter ; than could be conveyed through the , medium of a dream. Mr. Pinch must have thought so though, like Br’er Rabbit, “he am’ Rayin' nothin’.”At any rate ho refused to pay the reward, • giving yesterday as his reason that ho wanted a chance to get the , woman on the stand and see what she . would say there. She got tired of wait- ] ing for the money and finally sued him. This was what he wanted. His lawyer, W. A. Crosby, cross-examined her and then judgment was confessed for the amount of the reward. Mr. Pinch would not say whether there would be more developments or not but ho carries the impression that there is another murder mystery yet. tb come out of Battlo Creek.
