CHOCOLATE CAKE, 1 cup white sugar, cup sweet milk, 4 cup melted butter. Whites of four eggs beaten stiff. 2 scant cups of flour with 3 teaspoon fulls of baking powder sifted in. Put the eggs in last. Bake on three tins, CHOCOLATE ICING. 1+ cups granulated sugar with enough water to make a syrup, let it bowl until it threads. Then put in a take of Bakers chocolate grated fine. When it boils it is ready for placing on the cake. The layers should be cold before the icing is placed on them. LADE MCFARLAND, Bridgewater, Lowa, Jan, 19.
