Amateur Radio Group Elects Bernard JonesElection of officers for the year featured the meeting of the Neosho Valley Amateur Radio club held Monday evening in the Naval Reserve quarters at 5051= Mechanic. New officers, all Emporians, are Bernard Jones, president; Louis Davis, vice-president, and Vernon Alford, see rotary-treasurer. Retiring officers were Arthur Musgrave, president: C. W. Ghristiason, Miller, vice-president, and P. H. Daniels, sec r eta ry-treasurer.After the business meeting club members examined and discussed emergency radio equipment they had purchased for use in field day trials and disaster communication work.Radio equipment of the Emporia Elecronics Warfare company. Naval Reserve, was put on amateur radio bands and used by members of the club. Among the “contacts”’ made was a Canadian amateur station.Present were Bernard Jones. Louis Davis, Vernon Alford. Arthur Musgrave. Paul Daniels. Dan Lewis, Virgil Parkman. Everett Thompkins, Otto Kramer, all of Emporia; C. W. Christiason, Miller; Arthur Peters, Elmdale, and a new member, Ernest Carson, of Admire. Guests were George Valyer and L. D. Gilder-slecve.
