Atlanta, Ga., Jan. 22.—Dr. Caleb A Ridley, former imperial Kludd of the Ku Klux Klan and former pastor of an Atlanta Baptist Church, made a public announcement yesterday to the effect that he had “cut loose finan cially and otherwise from every sec war organization and fraternal or der with which he had heretofor, been connected.” Saying that tampering with thing: ntpde b's church work had caused him, 19 “lose it escapin with Cod and te bretheren,” he said he wishe d to “set himself to the high task of both living and preaching the gas on Pr. Ridley’s statement was made before a meeting of the Atlanta Bap tist Minister conference which with drew fellowship from him prior to his resignation as pastor of the church He asked permission to address the conference, but made no specific re quest for reinstatement. The klan was not directly mentioned in his Witten statement.
