Margaret Remy Reynoldswas born in Fairfield county, ‘Ohio, August 31, 1827; died at the home of her son, Jerry M. Dunafin, in Clay township, January 14, 11)10, aged 84 years, 4 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage with Zachariah Dunafin in 1847. To this union twelve children were born, her husband and eight children proceeded her in death, four sons, Joshua, Marion, Zachariah and Jerry M., survive her. There are twenty-five grand children and twenty-one greatgrandchildren. With her husband she came to Indiana in 1848, when it was comparatively a wilderness and roads were almost impassable, and grandma Dunafin was compelled to walk and carry a baby ranch of the way on the trip from Ohio to Indiana. They settled in Clay township, and she knew the privations of pioneer days. She was ever a kind wife and mother until the infirmities of age so impaired her frail body that she was unable longer to care for them.Funeral services were held from the home of her son, Jerry M., by the pastor, Sunday at ten o’clock, at Bethel church and the remains were laid to rest in the Pixley cemetery.
