Jan. 21.—The green huge are ruining some crops of oats and hurting some wheat. Mrs. Ray Duncan has been with her brother, Sam Lemons, of Rhea Mills the past week. Mr. Lemons continues very sick. Mr. Melton and family of Mon tague county have moved into on midst John Brakebill and family left last Wednesday for West Texas to make their future home Mrs. Ashbie who has been sick is some better. Sunday school and prayer meet ings are well attended with good in terest Our school now has thirty-five pupils enrolled and having one of the best teachers, we now have one of the best country schools in the county Miss Martha Griffin who has been real sick is now able to be up. Mr. Burrow and family have mov ed to Tom Kean er and Mrs. J. A. Crutcher who live near here, and Mrs. Will Brake bill and children of Walnut Grove have returned from a visit to Mrs Bob Crutcher of Joshua, Johnson county, who is very low with cance. Mrs. Crutcher with her family lives here for a number of years and her many friends here sympathize with her and family in this sad affliction A social was given at the home of Mrs. Sam McCandless last Saturday night. Will Williams and family have moved into this community Mrs. Ida Hicks and children, for merly of Okemah, but now of Franklin. community, spent. Last week with Mrs. M. J. Hickey A nice social was given at Mr Ashbbie’s a few nights ago A house on the farm of O. R Hickey which had between four and five hundred bushels of corn in it, burned last Saturday night.
